Human Bocavirus in Tonsillar Lymphocytes
نویسندگان
چکیده
M. setense is an emerging organism of the M. fortuitum group that must be added to the growing list of rapidly growing mycobacteria isolated from humans. The initial gram-positive rod appearance of M. setense may delay its accurate identifi cation. Determination of antimicrobial drug susceptibility needs to be conducted by the reference broth dilution method. Further reports are warranted to characterize the role of M. setense in infection.

High Rates of Detection of Respiratory Viruses in Tonsillar Tissues from Children with Chronic Adenotonsillar Disease
Chronic tonsillar diseases are an important health problem, leading to large numbers of surgical procedures worldwide. Little is known about pathogenesis of these diseases. In order to investigate the role of respiratory viruses in chronic adenotonsillar diseases, we developed a cross-sectional study to determine the rates of viral detections of common respiratory viruses detected by TaqMan rea...
متن کاملHuman Bocavirus in Iranian children with acute gastroenteritis
Background: Human Bocavirus ( HBoV) infection is of worldwide distribution. There is increasing evidence that HBoV is pathogenic for the human gastroenteric tract. However, less data are available on the role of HBoV in gastroenteritis. The present study was aimed to determine the prevalence of HBoV in children with gastroenteritis. Methods : Real-time PCR TaqMan was used to screen 200 st...
متن کاملEvaluation of bocavirus colonization in children with asthma
Introduction: the rate of colonization of bocavirus (a newly recognized respiratory virus) was assessed in children with asthma and non-asthmatic condition due to the importance of bocavirus in preventing and exacerbating of childhood asthma. Materials and Methods: In this study, 142 samples of nasopharyngeal swabs were assessed (71 with asthma and 71 without asthma). Viral nucleic acid was ext...
متن کاملCell-mediated immune response to bacterial products in human tonsils and peripheral blood lymphocytes.
Lymphoproliferative responses of tonsillar tissue lymphocytes and peripheral blood lymphocytes to phytohemagglutinin and specific bacterial product antigens were studied in children undergoing tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy. Tonsillar tissue lymphocytes responded to optimal concentrations of phytohemagglutinin. Varidase, and streptolysin-O in a manner similar to peripheral blood lymphocytes. H...
متن کاملSubpopulation of human tonsillar lymphocytes with mitochondria visible by light microscopy.
We observed a subpopulation of human tonsillar lymphocytes with cytoplasmic inclusions that stained orthochromatically blue with Wright stain. These lymphocytes represented fewer than 2% of cells in suspensions of cells from most tonsils; however, suspensions of tonsillar cells from 4 to 18 studied patients contained more than 2% (2.8%--6.4%) lymphocytes with cytoplasmic inclusions. These cells...
